![]() ![]() Intriguing thoughts, personalized summaries of the ideas of others, etc What I have settled on the past few weeks (as I've used the trial for DevonThink) is a 3-app system.Eventually I plan to buy the "To Go" for this purpose but need to further look into how it works. ![]() I also prefer access to the content from my phone (even if it's limited access) as I don't always have my laptop immediately accessible.I do occasionally try to set up basic, highly beneficial scripts (like the DevonThink OCR) but I always struggle and prefer to stay away from them. I have no interest in the complex or advanced features (automation, scripting, macros, etc).I can't afford a hard drive/SSD for physical backups so am putting a lot of trust in the software I store the data in I need the program to be reliable and trusted.I want to have reliable document storage (articles, books, documents scanned in with my phone or iPad) so I can reference content in the future but also the ability to further analyze the data and take notes that I can later search in a Zettelkasten-like system. But I am a broke student and have had to really penny pinch and push the budget to be able to afford DevonThink. Last fall I got a MacBook Pro which opened up a number of new possibilities. I've been trying for years to find an app that would allow me to reliably create and utilize my "Second Brain" / Zettelkasten in addition to storing general documents for future reference. However, I prioritize long-term reliability over simplicity. I have no interest in advanced features and want the simplest option that meets my needs. TLDR I'm a broke student looking for an app that can aid in (Personal Knowledge Management) file management/storage (with an added bonus if it has search utility).
